Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Tuan Chau – Lan Ha Bay.

8:30 AM: Begin your day by departing from your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. As we make our way towards Halong Bay, soak in the scenic beauty of the Red River Delta.

11:30 AM: Upon reaching Tuan Chau Marina, take a moment to complete the check-in procedures in the comfortable waiting lounge while enjoying a warm welcome tea.

12:15 PM: Hop onto Nostalgia Cruise via a tender boat. As you settle in, savor the mesmerizing views and indulge in a refreshing welcome drink at the restaurant. We’ll also provide you with a comprehensive cruise briefing and important safety instructions for your journey.

1:00 PM: Get ready to enjoy a delightful lunch as we set sail through the captivating landscapes of Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

3:00 PM: We’ll transfer you to Cat Ba Island via a tender boat. From there, embark on a scenic bus ride to Trung Trang Cave, a natural wonder with a length of 300 meters. This cave’s enchanting beauty, sculpted over millions of years by geological tectonic activity, is complemented by a wealth of historical relics. Be prepared to marvel at the stunning stalactite formations, each with its own unique shape, sparking your imagination and leaving you in awe.

5:00 PM: Return to the boat and set sail for the serene Tra Bau area of Lan Ha Bay. Take advantage of the opportunity to swim in the pristine emerald waters, surrounded by the tranquility of nature.

6:00 PM: Join our onboard cooking demonstration and learn the secrets of preparing traditional Vietnamese cuisine. As the sun begins to set, head to the bar to enjoy Happy Hour with a special offer of “buy one, get one free,” while relishing the breathtaking sunset over the bay.

Day 2: Lan Ha Bay – Viet Hai Village – Lan Ha Bay.

6:15 AM: Start your day off early onboard Nostalgia Cruises with a refreshing Tai Chi session on the sundeck. Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast in the dining room while taking in the picturesque morning view of the bay’s landscape. Afterward, we will continue our exciting journey.

8:30 AM: Transfer to the day boat for a captivating visit to Viet Hai village. Embark on a bicycle trip along village paths, passing through enchanting rainforests and intriguing dark tunnels. For your convenience, there is an optional electric car service available at an additional cost. Delight in the breathtaking scenery of Vietnamese farmers’ rice fields along the way. Make a stop at the village to unwind and explore. Immerse yourself in the local culture by visiting an ancient traditional house constructed from straw, mud, and bamboo. Experience a unique sensation by dipping your feet into a lake teeming with garra rufa fish, known for their stress-relieving properties. Gain insights into the daily lives of the local people. Return to the day boat to embark on a captivating journey through Lan Ha Bay, accompanied by a delightful lunch served onboard.

3:00 PM: Return to Nostalgia Cruises and enjoy a refreshing swim in an untouched area of the bay. Later, participate in a traditional cooking class where our skilled chef will guide you in preparing authentic Vietnamese dishes. 9:30 PM: Unwind and soak in the mesmerizing night scenery of the bay from the top deck. Relax with a drink from the bar, savoring the tranquil ambiance. If you’re feeling adventurous, try your hand at squid fishing or engage in board games in the restaurant area. Rest comfortably overnight on board the cruise. 11:00 PM: Conclusion of the Day Two program.

Day 3: Lan Ha Bay – Tuan Chau – Hanoi.

6:15 AM: Begin your day by embracing the breathtaking beauty of the bay during an early morning Tai Chi session on the sundeck. Afterward, treat yourself to a light breakfast to energize for the day ahead. Once breakfast is finished, we will continue our journey and venture out to explore the bay, specifically the area where the Sang Toi cave is situated.

7:45 AM: Immerse yourself in the hidden charm of Lan Ha Bay as you enjoy an unforgettable kayaking experience in the Ao Ech area.

9:30 AM: Return to the Nostalgia Cruises boat for the check-out procedures.

10:00 AM: As we cruise back, indulge in a delightful brunch that offers a variety of mouthwatering dishes.

10:30 AM: Experience the elegance of a Tea Ceremony at the restaurant, where you will learn about Vietnamese tea traditions and immerse yourself in the local culture. This ceremony serves as a memorable conclusion to your stay with us.

11:35 AM: Bid farewell as we arrive at Tuan Chau port, marking the end of the program.

2:00 PM: Return to your designated drop-off point in Hanoi, concluding the trip.

Cruise itinerary and schedule are subject to change due to weather, tide levels and operating conditions. Swimming or kayaking excursions may be cancelled due to poor weather.

Tour guide

Our tour guides speak English or French. They hold a university degree in tourism and national license as a guide. If you wish to send a tour leader along with any group, he or she can fully rely on the knowledge and experience of our local guides.

Remote treks are always accompanied by a local representative to deal with permits and authorities and manage the porter team. They speak the local dialects, know the cultural traditions and give tips on suggested behavior in fragile ecological areas and tribal communities. For some itineraries, the role of tour leader and representative is combined.

Driver

Our drivers don’t speak English. It’s possible that a few of them might know some basic words, such as telling time, stop, and lunch. If you’re looking for effective communication throughout the journey, we highly recommend booking a tour guide.

Trip routes

Principally, Lotussia Travel requires all the trip associates to know the destinations well by any means of traveling or enquiry to the local suppliers to figure out all the relative details of any trip. For adventure tours such as jungle trekking, mountain hiking, sea kayaking, river rafting or biking, cycling tours, Lotussia Travel will never add any new routes into available schedule until survey or pre-view it.

Accommodation

Lotussia Travel carefully choose all the hotels, guest-houses or home-stays based on service quality, location, and characteristics, doing best to make the accommodations in the remote small places as comfortable as possible. Please bear in mind that hotels in Vietnam might not be in the same standard in other country. Generally hotels in major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city, Hoian, Hue…are much better than hotels and guest-houses in mountainous areas.

Meals

Lotussia Travel take dinning as an indispensable experience to clients since it is an important part in Vietnamese culture. Therefore, Lotussia Travel will not intend take clients to the most expensive restaurants but non-touristy local ones which offer delicious, local food, with nice or interesting atmosphere. The restaurants might be simple in the country but LOTUSSIA Travel guarantee is sanitary and cleanliness. Or even on our trek, we encourage our cook offer client food with new tastes from day to day. During adventure itineraries to mountainous or remote areas, there is sometimes no choice for hotel and restaurants. We will try our best to bring you the best taste of local food.

Drinks

As the tap water in Vietnam is undrinkable, Lotussia Travel recommend clients to drink bottled water throughout your trip, or boiled water on treks. Lotussia Travel offers bottle water all the day, and soft drinks like Cola, Sprite or Vietnamese Tea or if possible juice in restaurants (if mentionned in itinerary). This is not automatically included in the packages. In simple restaurant or on camping, Lotussia Travel offers boiled water, instant coffee or juice, wrapped milk (Details are confirmed in bottom of your itinerary).

Transportation

In most destinations of Vietnam, all the roads are well paved though the traffic is quite messed up like in Hanoi, Hai Phong… We use proper vehicles, car, minibus or coach in good condition based on the size of the groups. We use 4WD only on the rough road where the other vehicles could not pass through or based on clients requirement on overland journeys or treks. For cycling itineraries, we usually use our support minibus or minibus with support truck. For sea kayaking, river rafting trips, diving packages we use standard boat as support. Detailed information is provided on our service proposal.

We use drivers who are native or local of each travel destination and maintain good safety records for all trips. Most of our drivers can speak English but a little bit. This is just enough to understand basic words such as “time of departure”, “stop”, “restaurants”, “hotels”…If you want to learn more about Vietnamese culture and information about sightseeing sites, booking a tour guide is highly recommended.
