Northwest Loop Vietnam Motorcycle begins with an overnight train Hanoi to Laocai, you will then ride from Sapa through Lai Chau, Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai, Phu Yen, Son La, Mai Chau to Hanoi. The other option is riding from Hanoi to Sapa, then take the overnight train from Sapa back to Hanoi.

Day-To-Day Itinerary

Night 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai.

Night train to Lao Cai (soft sleeper, dept 20.30) , you will be picked up at from your hotel 19.30 by our car driver and transfer to Hanoi train station. Night on train.

Day 1: Lao Cai – Sapa.

Arrive at Lao Cai train station from 06.00 to 06.30. pick up and transfer by bus or car to Sapa-32kms. Arrive at Sapa town. Check in hotel for breakfast, Group meeting organized by tour guide about all information related to the ride. Start riding at 10.00 to Ta Phin village, small dirt road, many stops to visit the Hmong’s life. Return in town for relaxing and exploring the town of Sapa. Dinner and night at hotel.

Day 2: Sapa Motorbike Tour.

Leaving Sapa, we ride on a small paved road going down hill until Ta Van, Lao Chai villages, the road gets smaller and muddy when we ride from Ta Van to Lao Chai, many points for sightseeing or taking picture of the Hmong villages. Continue the ride to Ban Ho village where we will stop for lunch in a small restaurant. Take a walk to visit the waterfall near by the village before ride back to Sapa. Dinner and night at your hotel.

Day 3: Sapa – Mu Cang Chai.

After breakfast, we leave Sapa and ride up on the Tram ton pass, 42 km long with many stops of the Hoang Lien Son imposing mountain’s range. Stop in Than Uyen for lunch. In the afternoon, we ride all the way down to Mu Cang Chai town by taking a small beautiful paved road. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Mu Cang Chai – Phu Yen.

We keep riding up and down into a forested and high mountain region populated by H’mong peoples, We will hike up a very high mountain pass before descending into a mountainous tea-growing region. Soon after we follow a long the valley floor covered in a sea of rice surrounded by Hmong and Thai’s villages all the way to Phu Yen, lunch on route. Overnight at Linh Huong hotel. Dinner in town.

Day 5: Phu Yen – Mai Chau.

We ride on a good paved road along a beautiful stream before descending to the banks of the reservoir and a ferry crossing. Once across we have 50 kilometers route that has plenty of challenging surface and is prone to landslides. Much of the area is inhabited by Kinh and both Black and White Thai peoples, all offering the impressive views over the area on a clear day. After lunch in a local place, we join the route No6 that ride us strait to Mai Chau. Dinner and overnight at home-stay in the Thais village.

Day 6: Mai Chau – Hanoi.

Say goodbye to the family, we ride today on a small, spectacular and paved trail along the Ma river until Cam Thuy town where we stop to visit the fish cave. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we hit the Ho Chi Minh trail, many stops for photo as we riding through the area of the kart mountains. Get back to the city traffic, we arrive in Hanoi by 5pm. Tour ends.
