Thung Nai is a commune of Cao Phong District, Hoa Binh province, about 100km from downtown Hanoi. It is an ideal place for weekend gateways and off the beaten path trips. The place is still away from mass tourism since it is only accessible by boat.
There are many interesting places to discover in the area such as Ba Chua Thac Bo Temple, Ngoi Hoa Temple, Thac Bo Cave, etc. Traveling to Thung Nai travelers have a chance to explore the culture of the Muong ethnic people through dances, songs performed by Muong girls and boys, and to enjoy delicious local dishes including smoked fish, Muong pork, and can wine.
Thung Nai if featured with hundreds of islets emerging from the Black River, Da Reservoir, and the very rich culture of Muong ethnic group, making the place one of best destination to visit around Hanoi.
