Tay Ninh is situated 95 km north-west of Ho Chi Minh city and has long been the headquarters of Caodaism, a religion that can only be found in Vietnam.
This unique religion, which is a mixture of Buddhism, Confucianism and Christianity, was once very popular among the people of the region and in the Mekong Delta. Tourists will be amazed by the magnificent Great Temple (also called the “Holy See”) where four times a day masses will be held of which the noon service is most important.
As for those who do not have much time in Vietnam, a visit from Ho Chi Minh City to the Great Temple of Caodaism in Tay Ninh can be combined with the trip to Cu Chi Underground Tunnels, and we can have a full day-trip to these both interesting places.
