Vietnam off the beaten track itinerary is a private guided tour that takes you to Sapa and the least traveled places of northern Vietnam where you meet up with different ethnic groups and discover beautiful terraced paddy fields. The 3 days trip starts from Lao Cai, taking you to Sapa, Lao Cai, Tavan, Ban Khoang, Muong Hum, Y Ty, A Mu Sung, Lung Po, and finishes in Lao Cai where you can either take the overnight train or bus to get back to Hanoi.
DAY 1: LAO CAI -> SAPA
Arrive early this morning at Lao Cai train station, you will be welcome by our local team and brought to a local restaurant for breakfast. Then transfer to Sapa. You leave your luggage at hotel before trekking from hotel to Lao Chai (Black H’mong tribe). Lunch on footpath, near Lao Chai bridge and then trek through Ta Van village (Giay ethnic minority people). Overnight at homestay or return to hotel by car.
DAY 2: SAPA -> MUONG HUM -> Y TY
After breakfast, you will be picked up again by our team and transferred to Muong Hum. You join the colorful market and meet up with different ethnic groups. Visit the Fairy’s Pond, located at about 3kms from Muong Hum centre. Have lunch in Muong Hum. In the afternoon, you go to Y Ty Commune. Have dinner and spend the night at local home in Y ty (homestay).
DAY 3: Y TY -> LUNG PO -> LAO CAI
After breakfast, visit Lao Chai I village. You have the chance to discover the rich ethnic culture, local traditions, architecture, traditional house of Ha Nhi ethnic minority people. Then you will travel to A Mu Sung. On the way, stop at the border point 92 – is the first place that Red River comes to Viet Nam from Yunan – China. You will visit Lung Po village, lying in the cross of rivers. Have lunch in Lung Po. Then travel back to Lao Cai. If time permit you may like to spend the rest of the day discovering the Mother Temple, Upper Temple. Take the overnight train to get back to Hanoi. Trip ends.
