Song Xanh Sampan Cruise 2 Nights Itinerary is an inspirational package that we have designed in partnership with Victoria Cruises for travelers to experience the real life of Vietnamese people living along the Mekong River.

This 2 night trip begins from either Ho Chi Minh City or Cai Be, offering the chance to experience the real life of local people in Cai Be, Sa Dec, and Rach Gia. The cruise is completed in Rach Gia, from there travelers may like to extend their holidays with a beach break in Phu Quoc Island.

Itinerary

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be – Sa Dec.

You will be picked up by our local team at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City at 8:00 am and transferred by road to Cai Be. The 2 night cruise begins from Phu An Jetty at 10:00 am. Welcome aboard the Song Xanh Sampan with chilled towels and a refreshing drink as the boat begins its leisurely cruise on the river.

Head ashore at local cottage industries that use products from the Mekong Delta region like rice and coconuts to make tasty snacks including puffed rice and chewy coconut candy. The following stop is a traditional brick factory. Then, visit the historic house of “The Lover”, a real-life character in the acclaimed novel and film by Marguerite Duras.

Enjoy your night aboard Song Xanh Sampan as it moors on the Mekong River.

Day 2: Sa Dec – Long Xuyen – Rach Gia.

Breakfast is served on board as the boat cruises towards Long Xuyen, along narrow canals, past several rustic monkey bridges, and peaceful countryside scenes.

The boat stops in Long Xuyen to visit the Tiger Island, located in the middle of Hau Giang river near Log Xuyen. This river is a tributary of the Mekong. The island was formed by silting. After many years of accumulation of the Hau River silt, this fertile island was formed. Aquatic plants, such as rushes and reeds, surrounded the island.

Return to the sampan and enjoy your dinner while the boat makes its way to Rach Gia, the capital of Kien Giang Province. Settle down for your second night on the river.

Day 3: Rach Gia – Phu Quoc Island (or Ho Chi Minh City).

Breakfast is served on board. Disembarkation from the Song Xanh Sampan at Rach Gia – A gateway to Phu Quoc Island. For travelers taking early speedboat to Phu Quoc, breakfast can be provided as early as 6:00 am.

Notes

Cruise itinerary and schedule are subject to change due to weather, tide levels and operating conditions. Swimming or kayaking excursions may be cancelled due to poor weather.

Meals on board are fusion. Vietnamese and international. Guest should advise of any special food reference, allergies or dietary requirement at least 1 week prior to the cruise date.
