Trip Description & Day-by-day Itinerary
Off the beaten track Vietnam Camping and Trekking Tour is a 4 days private, guided trekking tour we have just designed for active adventure travelers seeking an off-the-beaten path holiday in Vietnam. The 4 day hard trek starts from Lao Cai, takes you to Vietnam’s most popular place Sapa where you have one day hike to the Red Dzao village. The you travel to the least visited destinations Muong Hum, Y Ty, A Mu Sung, Lung Po.
DAY 1: LAO CAI -> SAPA
You will be welcome at Lao Cai railway station and transferred to a local restaurant for breakfast, and a short rest. Vehicle transfer to Sapa. Arrive in Sapa, you start trekking from the town to Ma Tra H’mong village.
Lunch on footpath then keep hiking to Taphin village (Red Dao ethnic minority people). Diner and overnight at local home (homestay).
DAY 2: SAPA -> MUONG HUM -> Y TY
In the morning, trekking to Ban Khoang village (Red Dzao tribe). Picnic lunch on the way, car pick you up at the main road transfer to Muong Hum. You visit around Muong Hum, Fairy’s Pond at the mountain is located about 3kms from Muong Hum centre. Having lunch in Muong Hum.
In the afternoon, you go to Y Ty Commune through the jungle and enjoy the landscape. Having dinner and spend the night at a local home in Y Ty (homestay).
DAY 3: Y TY -> PHIN HO
After breakfast, you start the day activity trekking to Lao Chai I village. You have the chance to discover the rich ethnic culture, local traditions, traditional architecture, houses of Ha Nhi ethnic minority people.
Lunch is provided in Y Ty.
After lunch, continue trekking to Phin Ho highland. Make stops on the way to take picture of beautiful landscape, trees, flowers… You will have experience of the dawn and dusk. You will camp and spend one night in Phin Ho Highland.
DAY 4: PHIN HO -> LAO CAI
After having breakfast with a hot coffee and watching the sunrise. Car picks you up and transfer to A Mu Sung is the first point the Red River comes to Vietnam from China. On the way, stop at the border point 92 – is the first place that the Red River comes to Viet Nam from Yunan – China. Then you will visit Lung Po village, lying in the cross of rivers.

Transfer to Lao Cai city by car. If time permit you spend the rest of the day visiting the Upper Temple before having dinner and taking the overnight train to get back to Hanoi. Trip ends.
