This Off-The-Beaten-Path 2 Day Cycling Hanoi to Son Tay takes you to Son Tay Vietnam. It’s only 75 minutes by car from Old Quarter, nice village to visit if you only have short time in Hanoi. Spend about 2,5 hours to visit village and an other Pagoda near by. Cycling mostly on the back roads to visit such attractions as Duong Lam village, Tay Phuong pagoda. A support car can be provided an as option.
DAY 1: HANOI -> DUONG LAM -> SON TAY
Star cycle from Hanoi along Red River Dike, through countryside, villages to Duong Lam village (40km). Arrived in the Village start to cycle from the gate inside the village. Visit the village, local families, Mong Phu communal house, Mia Pagoda, Phu mother Queen temple on the way. Continue biking to upper commune visit Phung Hung king temple, Ngo Quyen king temple and 1000 year old ‘Duoi’ tree road. Lunch in the family ancient house. Cycle to Son Tay town. Stay overnight. Overnight: Son Tay.
DAY 2: SON TAY -> TAY PHUONG PAGODA -> HANOI
Morning leave the town cycle to Tay Phuong pagoda, a special architecture from XVIII century and the best collection of Buddha statues built on the top of bamboo hill. Visit the pagoda and cycle back to Hanoi. End.
