This day tour Luang Prabang Trekking and Kayaking is a combination of two activities we add in one trip, offering you more experiences. Visiting villages, walking some scenic trails as well as a soft kayaking tour on the Nam Khan river gives the right touch of adventure…
Departing from Luang Prabang, we drive to a trekking starting point at Ban Vang Lae in Lao Leu village. From here we cross the Nam Ou River by boat and trek through growing forest and rice paddies. Along the route, we’ll climb to a hidden cave called Pha Long, which was used as bomb shelter during the Second Indochina War.
In Ban Kok, we stop for a picnic lunch (ordered from your hotel) by the banks of the river.
After lunch, we’ll cross the Mekong once again to Muang Keo village. Our trekking continues through the forest to the Pak Ou Caves, where hundreds of gilded and wooden Buddha statues are housed inside a towering limestone cliff. From here, we begin kayaking to Ban Xang Hai, a Lao wine making village.
Your driver is waiting here to take you back to Luang Prabang.
