The Hanoi Walking Tour half day hike starts with a transfer from your hotel to the right bank of the Red River, from there you begin your hike, walking through an island…
At 8.00am. Meet up at your hotel, then take a taxi to a local market. Starting walking city streets and small alleys. Reach the right bank of the Red River with great opportunities for photos of beautiful peach blossom & kumquat gardens and pottery.
Take a local ferry to cross the river (summer time), and see new landscapes with gardens and thatched houses. Walk through many green gardens of bananas, corn, vegetables, herb plants … we will see farmers working on their farms and will be welcomed to their house for a cup of tea. The farmers will show us great hospitality and a highlight is being offered fresh fruit from their gardens.
In another part of the village, we can see floating houses owned by people who are not wealthy enough to own land. They work in local fields and markets.
Reaching the Long bien bridge, one of the symbols of Hanoi and more than 100 years old, it is the historical witness to changes in this wonderful city. Hear its long story of construction, protection during the wars, Long bien bridge (former: Paul Durmer bridge, was designed by Mr. Efelt ) It was damaged during the American destruction war, and it still very useful for many trains to and from Hai Phong and Lao cai (Sapa ). A nice place for photographers , young couples are going to get married, and it is one of the symbol of Hanoi.
We cross over the bridge back to this bank of the river. Then take taxi to get back to your hotel. End.
