Ba Pagoda Festival – Binh Duong

Ba Pagoda Festival is held on the 15th day of the first lunar month in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province. The festival worships the Holy Mother Thien Hau (Thien Hau Thanh Mau). The pagoda was built in the first half of the 20th century by a group of Chinese people.

On the day of festival, the pagoda is decorative with flags, banners, colorful lanterns… 12 lanterns are decorated along the road from the three-entrance gate (tam quan) to the shrine. These lanterns are symbolize 12 months of the year. At the end of the festival, these lanterns will be sold, and the gaining money is used for charity.

Teams of unicorn dancing and lion dancing from many places come here to take part in the contest of dancing, masquerade, dancing and martial art.

At the end of the festival, a procession of Ba’s palanquin is carried through streets in the town.
