Tu Son Bac Ninh is a provincial township of Bac Ninh province in the northern Vietnam. Tu Son township covers an area of 61 km². The place is not an ideal destination for mountain biking and challenging bicycle rides. But its surroundings area offers beautiful day trips from Hanoi, easy, fun family bike tours, road cycling holidays which might be great for those who like discovering Vietnam countryside and rural villages.

Tu Son township consists of 7 wards including Chau Khe, Dinh Bang, Dong Ngan, Dong Nguyen, Dong Ky, Tan Hong, Trang Ha. There are 5 communes including Huong Ma, Phu Chan, Phu Khe, Tam Son, and Tuong Giang.

Getting there

The best way to get to Tu Son from Hanoi is to rent a car with driver. The car journey takes about 1 hour. There are also different day buses and trains leaving from Hanoi to Tu Son township.

When to go

Tu Son township features a warm humid subtropical climate with plentiful precipitation. The annual average temperature is 24 °C in Tu Son region. The highest is 30 °C in July; the lowest is 15 °C in January. The township experiences the typical climate of northern Vietnam, where summers are hot and humid, and winters are, by national standards, relatively cold and dry. Summers, lasting from May to September, are hot and humid, receiving the majority of the annual 1,680 millimetres (66.1 in) of rainfall. The winters, lasting from November to March, are relatively mild, dry (in the first half) or humid (in the second half), while spring (April) can bring light rains. Autumn (October) is the best time of the year in terms of weather. The average annual sunshine is 1,530-1,776 hours, relative humidity is 79%.

What to do

Hiking

Tu Son town is topographically flat and characterized by city streets and civil residences. There are neither mountains nor forests. The area is not an ideal place for challenging mountain climbs, mountain biking, jungle trekking.

Cycling

Taking a car trip is the best way to discover the Tu Son township. Best day trips are arranged from Hanoi.
