Dong Hy Thai Nguyen
Dong Hy Thai Nguyen, one of the 8 rural districts of Thai Nguyen Province is located in the north-east region of Vietnam, about 2 hour drive from Hanoi. Dong Hy district covers an area of 462 km². It might not be an ideal place for trekking, hiking. But the area offers beautiful off the beaten path easy bike rides, road cycling tours which can be arranged for those who like to discover Vietnam countryside and rural villages.
Dong Hy contains 3 townships and 15 communes including Chua Hang, Trai Cau, Song Cau, Hoa Thuong, Huong Thuong, Nam Hoa, Tan Loi, Cay Thi, Hop Tien, Khe Mo, Van Han, Hoa Trung, Quang Son, Van Lang, Tan Long, Hoa Binh, Minh Lap, and Linh Son.

The climate of Dong Hy has two distinct seasons: the rainy season from May to October and dry season from October to May. The average rainfall per year lies in the range of 2,000 to 2,500 mm; it rains most in August and least in January. Getting to Dong Hy
The best way to get to Dong Hy from Hanoi is to rent a car with driver. You will be picked up at your place in Hanoi and brought straight to Dong Hy. The journey takes about 3 hours on road. Those who are on budget can take local public bus from My Dinh/Gia Lam/Giap Bat bus station. Taking a guided tour (with a tour guide) is highly recommended. A guide is really helpful in such an off the beaten track place like Dong Hy Vietnam.
