Bong Cave is located in the middle of the Bong Mountain in Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province, about 3 hour drive from Hanoi. It is not very far from Hong Thai Communal House.
Uncle Ho stayed in this cave from 1950 to 1951. On 22 February 1950, he signed a decree to mobilize people and resources for a resistance war. On 25 July 1950, he answered questions raised by journalists on the interference of America in the independence of Indochina.
Also, from this cave, Uncle Ho directed the border campaign of 1950 and participated in the second National Party Congress in 1951.
