Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Tuan Chau – Halong Bay.

8:30 – 9:00 AM: Start your exciting journey as we pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter (shuttle bus available upon request). Sit back and relax during the scenic 2.5-hour drive to reach the mesmerizing Halong Bay.

12:00 – 12:30 PM: Arrive at Tuan Chau International Marina, where a tender boat will be waiting to transport you to the Halong Phoenix Cruiser. As you step aboard, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink and smoothly check into your comfortable cabin.

13:00 PM: With your belongings safely settled in your cabin, our boat sets sail towards the heart of the World Heritage Site. Indulge in a delightful lunch at the boat’s restaurant, savoring the fresh flavors of local seafood. For those with a preference for vegetarian options, our menu is always ready to cater to your needs.

While cruising, marvel at the stunning natural wonders that unfold before your eyes, including the picturesque Dog Head and Swan Islands, the enchanting Ba Hang Floating villages with their unique floating houses, the striking Incense Burner, and the majestic Thumb Islands. Our next stop is the captivating area of Luon Cave, where you’ll have the chance to embark on an exciting kayaking adventure.

Around 2:30 – 3:00 PM: Prepare for an unforgettable hour of kayaking around the breathtaking landscapes of Luon Cave. Our experienced guide will provide you with essential safety guidelines and paddle techniques before assisting you onto our brand-new sit-on-top kayaks. Afterward, we’ll take you to Titop Island, where you can immerse yourself in swimming, sunbathing, or simply soak in the panoramic views from the island’s peak.

5:00 PM: As the sun begins to set, we return to the comfort of our cruise for a moment of relaxation. The sundeck offers a perfect setting to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while savoring the refreshing fruits provided. Alternatively, you can order your favorite drink from the bar as our boat gracefully cruises towards the anchorage area for the night.

7:00 PM: Indulge in a delectable dinner featuring an array of local seafood delicacies. Afterward, you can unwind with drinks from the bar or the top deck, or even try your hand at squid fishing, adding a touch of excitement to your evening before retiring to your cabin for a restful night.

Day 2: Halong Bay Cruise.

7:00-7:45 AM: Wake up to the stunning morning view of the picturesque landscape as you savor a steaming cup of coffee or tea. Enjoy a delicious breakfast in the invigorating fresh air.

8:30-11:30 AM: Depart from the Halong Phoenix Cruiser and board a smaller boat for an exciting excursion to the Head islet and Drum Area. Stop at Parachute cave, where you can partake in kayaking, swimming, and explore the pristine waters. In case of adverse weather conditions, such as strong winds and big waves, we offer the option to visit Drum Cave or Fairy Lake instead.

12:00 PM: Treat yourself to a delectable lunch of fresh seafood served on the support boat.

1:15 PM: Embark on a visit to a Pearl farm, where you can discover the fascinating process of cultured pearls.

4:30 PM: Return to the Halong Phoenix cruiser, which awaits you at Titop Island with a warm welcome back on board.

5:00 PM: Unwind and enjoy refreshing drinks and fresh fruits on the top deck as you witness the captivating sunset.

7:00 PM: Delight in a mouthwatering dinner featuring the finest local seafood. Afterward, you have the option to savor drinks from the bar or the top deck, or try your hand at squid fishing before retiring for the night.

Day 3: Halong Bay – Tuan Chau – Hanoi.

7:00 – 7:45 AM: Start your day by immersing yourself in the tranquil morning ambiance, savoring a freshly brewed cup of coffee or tea while taking in the breathtaking landscape. Delight in a hearty breakfast amidst the refreshing open air, setting the perfect tone for the day ahead.

8:00 – 9:00 AM: Embark on an extraordinary excursion guided by our knowledgeable tour guide as you explore the awe-inspiring Surprising Cave (Sửng Sốt) in Halong Bay. Prepare to be amazed by the magnificent formations and enchanting beauty that awaits within this remarkable cave.

10:00 AM: As we set course back to the harbor, it’s time to check out of your cabin and settle any remaining bills. Take this opportunity to feast your eyes on more captivating views of Halong Bay, including the iconic Fighting Cocks Island, a symbol of this remarkable bay, along with the picturesque Incense Burner and Stone Dogs Islands.

10:20 AM: Engage in a captivating cooking demonstration on board, where our skilled chef will unveil the secrets behind crafting authentic Vietnamese Spring rolls. Learn about the traditional recipes and techniques that make this popular dish a favorite among the Vietnamese people.

11:20 AM: Bid farewell to the Halong Phoenix Cruiser as we transfer you back to Tuan Chau International Marina via a tender boat. From there, board our comfortable bus for a leisurely return journey to Hanoi. Anticipate reaching your hotel in the old quarter around 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM, cherishing the unforgettable moments and experiences from your Halong Bay adventure.

Notes

Cruise itinerary and schedule are subject to change due to weather, tide levels and operating conditions. Swimming or kayaking excursions may be cancelled due to poor weather.

Meals on board are fusion. Vietnamese, seafood and international. Guest should advise of any special food reference, allergies or dietary requirement at least 1 week prior to the cruise date.

Tour guide

Our tour guides speak English or French. They hold a university degree in tourism and national license as a guide. If you wish to send a tour leader along with any group, he or she can fully rely on the knowledge and experience of our local guides.

Remote treks are always accompanied by a local representative to deal with permits and authorities and manage the porter team. They speak the local dialects, know the cultural traditions and give tips on suggested behavior in fragile ecological areas and tribal communities. For some itineraries, the role of tour leader and representative is combined.

Driver

Our drivers don’t speak English. It’s possible that a few of them might know some basic words, such as telling time, stop, and lunch. If you’re looking for effective communication throughout the journey, we highly recommend booking a tour guide.

Trip routes

Principally, Lotussia Travel requires all the trip associates to know the destinations well by any means of traveling or enquiry to the local suppliers to figure out all the relative details of any trip. For adventure tours such as jungle trekking, mountain hiking, sea kayaking, river rafting or biking, cycling tours, Lotussia Travel will never add any new routes into available schedule until survey or pre-view it.

Accommodation

Lotussia Travel carefully choose all the hotels, guest-houses or home-stays based on service quality, location, and characteristics, doing best to make the accommodations in the remote small places as comfortable as possible. Please bear in mind that hotels in Vietnam might not be in the same standard in other country. Generally hotels in major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city, Hoian, Hue…are much better than hotels and guest-houses in mountainous areas.

Meals

Lotussia Travel take dinning as an indispensable experience to clients since it is an important part in Vietnamese culture. Therefore, Lotussia Travel will not intend take clients to the most expensive restaurants but non-touristy local ones which offer delicious, local food, with nice or interesting atmosphere. The restaurants might be simple in the country but LOTUSSIA Travel guarantee is sanitary and cleanliness. Or even on our trek, we encourage our cook offer client food with new tastes from day to day. During adventure itineraries to mountainous or remote areas, there is sometimes no choice for hotel and restaurants. We will try our best to bring you the best taste of local food.

Drinks

As the tap water in Vietnam is undrinkable, Lotussia Travel recommend clients to drink bottled water throughout your trip, or boiled water on treks. Lotussia Travel offers bottle water all the day, and soft drinks like Cola, Sprite or Vietnamese Tea or if possible juice in restaurants (if mentionned in itinerary). This is not automatically included in the packages. In simple restaurant or on camping, Lotussia Travel offers boiled water, instant coffee or juice, wrapped milk (Details are confirmed in bottom of your itinerary).

Transportation

In most destinations of Vietnam, all the roads are well paved though the traffic is quite messed up like in Hanoi, Hai Phong… We use proper vehicles, car, minibus or coach in good condition based on the size of the groups. We use 4WD only on the rough road where the other vehicles could not pass through or based on clients requirement on overland journeys or treks. For cycling itineraries, we usually use our support minibus or minibus with support truck. For sea kayaking, river rafting trips, diving packages we use standard boat as support. Detailed information is provided on our service proposal.

We use drivers who are native or local of each travel destination and maintain good safety records for all trips. Most of our drivers can speak English but a little bit. This is just enough to understand basic words such as “time of departure”, “stop”, “restaurants”, “hotels”…If you want to learn more about Vietnamese culture and information about sightseeing sites, booking a tour guide is highly recommended.
