Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Tuan Chau – Lan Ha Bay.

The day starts with a pick-up service from your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter between 8:00 and 9:00 AM. After arriving at the waiting room at No.11 Tuan Chau International Port at noon, the Aqua of the Seas reception will assist you with the check-in procedures at the Customs area.

At 12:30 PM, you’ll board the speedboat to move to Aqua of the Seas Cruise, where you’ll be greeted by the captain, manager, and crew members with a welcome drink. You’ll receive safety instructions on board before being handed over your room keys. Once settled, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch with a panoramic view of Lan Ha Bay at 1:00 PM.

The cruise will then move near Ba Trai Dao (or Vung Tra Bau) beach in Lan Ha Bay at around 4:00 PM, where you can engage in ideal activities such as kayaking and bathing, surrounded by 400 large and small islands.

After returning to the Aqua of the Seas cruise at 5:00 PM, guests are free to rest on the yacht or catch the sunset on the sundeck. From 5:15 PM, you can choose to enjoy afternoon tea or join a Vietnamese cooking class.

At 7:30 PM, a luxurious and romantic dinner will be served in a spacious restaurant. You can then head to the bar, karaoke, or the sundeck to admire the magical view of Lan Ha Bay at night. Additionally, squid fishing near the night will help you relax and ensure a good night’s sleep.

Day 2: Lan Ha Bay – Viet Hai Village – Lan Ha Bay.

Start your day by participating in the Tai Chi session on the sundeck of Aqua of the Seas at 6:30 am. You’ll witness the breathtaking sunrise over Lan Ha Bay while breathing in the fresh air and taking in the romantic scenery.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast as the ship continues to sail through the large and small islands in the bay until 10:30 am. Take some time to rest before you transfer to a transfer ship to explore beautiful and unspoiled spots on Lan Ha Bay.

Your first stop is Viet Hai Village in Cat Ba Forest Biosphere Reserve. Your guide will take you on a bicycle ride along village roads and through tropical forests. You’ll also get to visit the house of a local family and learn about their daily life. Take some time to relax with a “fish” massage. Afterward, return to the yacht for lunch featuring specialties from Cat Ba.

At 2:00 pm, continue your journey in Lan Ha Bay by exploring the fishing village through kayaking or experiencing the life of a fisherman at Quay To Area. Alternatively, you can swim at Ba Trai Dao natural beach.

Return to Aqua of the Seas Cruise at 3:30 pm and enjoy the sunset party and baking with sailors. The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy. You can relax, enjoy drinks at the outdoor bar, admire the bay at night, participate in fishing or squid fishing on the side of the yacht, or sing Karaoke in the restaurant area.

Spend the night on Aqua of the Seas yacht, where you can rest peacefully after a day full of adventure.

Day 3: Lan Ha Bay – Tuan Chau – Hanoi.

As the sun rises over Lan Ha Bay, you can participate in the Tai Chi session on the sundeck of the Aqua of the Seas Cruise at 6:30 AM. Enjoy the fresh air, dreamy scenery, and gentle music as you start a new day. Following the session, savor a delicious breakfast.

From 7:30 to 8:45 AM, continue the journey to the Bright & Dark Cave aboard the Aqua of the Seas Cruise. Take this time to rest and relax as you approach the cave. Once there, you have the option to explore the wild beauty of the cave on a bamboo boat rowed by locals.

After exploring, you will check-out at 9:30 AM. Then, at 10:00 AM, enjoy a buffet lunch featuring new and exciting Vietnamese dishes. Take in the stunning views of the bay one last time before the Aqua of the Seas cruise ship docks in Tuan Chau at 11:50 to 12:00 AM, ending the cruise. A shuttle bus will then take you back to Hanoi.

Cruise itinerary and schedule are subject to change due to weather, tide levels and operating conditions. Swimming or kayaking excursions may be cancelled due to poor weather.

Meals on board are fusion. Vietnamese, seafood and international. Guest should advise of any special food reference, allergies or dietary requirement at least 1 week prior to the cruise date.

For environmental protection purposes, the use and carrying of plastic bags, single-use plastic bottles, and any other disposable plastics is prohibited in Ha Long Bay.

Tour guide

Our tour guides speak English or French. They hold a university degree in tourism and national license as a guide. If you wish to send a tour leader along with any group, he or she can fully rely on the knowledge and experience of our local guides.

Remote treks are always accompanied by a local representative to deal with permits and authorities and manage the porter team. They speak the local dialects, know the cultural traditions and give tips on suggested behavior in fragile ecological areas and tribal communities. For some itineraries, the role of tour leader and representative is combined.

Driver

Our drivers don’t speak English. It’s possible that a few of them might know some basic words, such as telling time, stop, and lunch. If you’re looking for effective communication throughout the journey, we highly recommend booking a tour guide.

Trip routes

Principally, Lotussia Travel requires all the trip associates to know the destinations well by any means of traveling or enquiry to the local suppliers to figure out all the relative details of any trip. For adventure tours such as jungle trekking, mountain hiking, sea kayaking, river rafting or biking, cycling tours, Lotussia Travel will never add any new routes into available schedule until survey or pre-view it.

Accommodation

Lotussia Travel carefully choose all the hotels, guest-houses or home-stays based on service quality, location, and characteristics, doing best to make the accommodations in the remote small places as comfortable as possible. Please bear in mind that hotels in Vietnam might not be in the same standard in other country. Generally hotels in major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city, Hoian, Hue…are much better than hotels and guest-houses in mountainous areas.

Meals

Lotussia Travel take dinning as an indispensable experience to clients since it is an important part in Vietnamese culture. Therefore, Lotussia Travel will not intend take clients to the most expensive restaurants but non-touristy local ones which offer delicious, local food, with nice or interesting atmosphere. The restaurants might be simple in the country but LOTUSSIA Travel guarantee is sanitary and cleanliness. Or even on our trek, we encourage our cook offer client food with new tastes from day to day. During adventure itineraries to mountainous or remote areas, there is sometimes no choice for hotel and restaurants. We will try our best to bring you the best taste of local food.

Drinks

As the tap water in Vietnam is undrinkable, Lotussia Travel recommend clients to drink bottled water throughout your trip, or boiled water on treks. Lotussia Travel offers bottle water all the day, and soft drinks like Cola, Sprite or Vietnamese Tea or if possible juice in restaurants (if mentionned in itinerary). This is not automatically included in the packages. In simple restaurant or on camping, Lotussia Travel offers boiled water, instant coffee or juice, wrapped milk (Details are confirmed in bottom of your itinerary).

Transportation

In most destinations of Vietnam, all the roads are well paved though the traffic is quite messed up like in Hanoi, Hai Phong… We use proper vehicles, car, minibus or coach in good condition based on the size of the groups. We use 4WD only on the rough road where the other vehicles could not pass through or based on clients requirement on overland journeys or treks. For cycling itineraries, we usually use our support minibus or minibus with support truck. For sea kayaking, river rafting trips, diving packages we use standard boat as support. Detailed information is provided on our service proposal.

We use drivers who are native or local of each travel destination and maintain good safety records for all trips. Most of our drivers can speak English but a little bit. This is just enough to understand basic words such as “time of departure”, “stop”, “restaurants”, “hotels”…If you want to learn more about Vietnamese culture and information about sightseeing sites, booking a tour guide is highly recommended.
